Option 1

Delete everything from inside the app

This is instant and needs no request:

  1. Open Genre AI: Music Detector ID on your phone.
  2. Go to the Settings tab (the gear icon, bottom right).
  3. Scroll to the Library card.
  4. Tap Clear scan history, then Clear favourites.

Uninstalling the app also removes every piece of data stored on the device, including your scan history, favourites and settings.

Option 2

Ask us to delete data held on our servers

  1. Email [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion request”.
  2. Tell us which app you are writing about (Genre AI: Music Detector ID, Android or iOS).
  3. Send it from the device you use the app on if you can, and mention roughly when you last scanned something. Records are keyed to a random per-device identifier rather than to your name, so these hints are what let us locate them.

We confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 30 days. There is no charge, and you do not need an account — the Android app does not have accounts at all.

Scope

What gets deleted, and what is kept

Deleted on request

  • Your scan results stored on our servers (genre, confidence, BPM, key, mood).
  • The random device identifier tied to those records.
  • Favourites synced to our servers.
  • Any linked account (email and display name) — iOS only, if you ever linked one.

Not stored in the first place

  • Your audio recordings. Clips are analysed in memory and discarded immediately — they are never written to disk, so there is nothing to delete.

Kept after deletion

  • Analytics and crash data (Firebase) — not linked to your identity and removed on Google’s own retention schedule, up to 14 months.
  • Server security logs for the AI detector (IP, timestamp) — kept for a short rolling window for abuse prevention, then dropped.
